Open Court Hearing of Terrorist Attack on Mangi Dam Pumping Station; Registration of 2,100 Out of 3,000 Seminaries in Balochistan Completed, 300 Illegal Seminaries Sealed: Additional Chief Secretary Home

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — According to a statement issued by the Inquiry Commission, Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana, head of the Inquiry Commission constituted to investigate the terrorist attack that occurred at Mangi Dam Pumping Station in Ziarat district, today, dated September 16, 2026, advanced the proceedings of the Inquiry Commission in open court and conducted the hearing.

During the hearing, a large number of people from the area appeared, whose statements were recorded as witnesses. Additionally, on the inquiry commission’s question, the Additional Chief Secretary Home briefed the commission on the details of the measures taken so far by the Government of Balochistan regarding the formal registration of seminaries across the province.

He further informed that these measures are being carried out through the Balochistan Charities Registration and Regulation Authority, which is functioning under the Home Department. According to him, there are approximately 3,000 seminaries in Balochistan, of which the registration process for 2,100 has been completed by the authority, while the registration process for more seminaries is ongoing.

In this regard, 300 seminaries have also been sealed on the basis of illegal status and failure to meet requirements. However, he sought more time to present a detailed report on the matter, which the commission directed to be submitted by the next hearing.
