Nawaz and Maryam Are Behind the Failure to Shift Imran Khan to Hospital: Junaid Akbar
ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and Member of the National Assembly, Junaid Akbar Khan, while strongly criticizing the judicial system, the government, and political revenge, has placed the blame for the obstruction of Imran Khan’s transfer to hospital on Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. Speaking in this regard, Junaid Akbar Khan said: Under which law was Nawaz Sharif allowed to go from jail to Britain, and his bail approved at the airport itself? And now, in the present era, the way Justice Aminuddin’s court has taken up the case of PTI founder Imran Khan, after that I think the Supreme Court should open a grocer’s shop. In the case of MNA Abdul Latif from Chitral, all other individuals have been acquitted, but his case has not been scheduled for hearing for a year and a half, which clearly shows how PTI’s cases are being treated.
Calling the debate on new administrative units and provinces a deception of intentions, he said the real objective is not to create empowered units but to strengthen the federation’s hold over provincial resources under the NFC Award. Mohsin Naqvi says the system cannot run without smaller units, but on the other hand, such is the situation of powers that he wants to keep the cricket board, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs all under himself.

The PTI leader said that Islamabad’s area and population are very limited, but have the problems of even one hospital and schools there been resolved? The real issue is not administrative units but governance, justice, and fair distribution of resources, and this debate has been started to divert public attention from an important issue like Kashmir. Dialogue does not take place at gunpoint; on one side talks are held, and on the other side warrants are issued.
He said that the person who was not intimidated by 20 FIRs will not be intimidated by 40 FIRs either, but raising the PTI flag in Punjab has been made a crime. We are not allowed to hold rallies, nor are we allowed to speak on the assembly floor, nor are our dates scheduled. If even 20 percent of their speeches made on the assembly floor during the past year are found to be against the Constitution, then they should be given the punishment given to a thief.
Junaid Akbar said that it was Nawaz Sharif who was ill, as he had every disease in the world except one, and Shahbaz Sharif’s back pain disappeared as soon as he became prime minister; he has been swimming daily for the past three years. Treatment is the basic right of every citizen. We have been told that hardline elements within the PML-N, namely Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, do not want Imran Khan to be shifted to hospital. Previously, the establishment used to do all this, but this time the government of the day is the obstacle. If Imran Khan gives a call now, even if we want to stop workers, they will not stop.
