JUI-F Balochistan Chief Warns of Worsening Crisis, Calls for Dialogue and National Unity
QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Balochistan provincial ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wase has said that Balochistan is facing an extremely alarming, delicate and deteriorating situation, with insecurity, uncertainty, economic hardship and political instability plunging the public into deep anxiety.
In a statement issued here, he said aggressive political statements, accusations and confrontations among rival sides were further increasing the distress of an already disillusioned population. Instead of point-scoring and blame games, political leaders and stakeholders must adopt a serious, realistic and result-oriented strategy, he added.
Maulana Wase said that if purposeful proposals, clear priorities and a workable plan had been prepared earlier, the situation could have improved by now. He claimed that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam was the party most affected by alleged rigged elections and irregularities, and that the party still holds serious reservations about the electoral process. Despite this, he said, JUI-F had avoided irresponsible politics and confrontation and instead prioritised national and provincial interest, political stability and the wider public good.
He stressed that difference of opinion is a basic requirement of democracy, but turning political rivalry into national division is not in Balochistan’s interest. The present circumstances, he said, demand patience, foresight and statesmanship from political leadership. Without consensus, seriousness, consultation and political prudence, problems would only grow more complex.
The senator said Balochistan needs political vision, national cohesion, mutual trust and a collective strategy rather than further division, clash and uncertainty. Lasting peace cannot be achieved by ignoring long-standing issues of deprivation, backwardness, unemployment, law and order, control over resources, constitutional rights, political representation and public trust. These problems cannot be resolved through administrative measures or force alone; the political process must be strengthened, public confidence restored and constitutional and democratic channels made effective.
He said taking the people of Balochistan into confidence and seriously addressing their legitimate constitutional, political and economic demands is the need of the hour. Protection of the province’s land, resources, peace, national unity and future is not the responsibility of any single party, institution or class, but a national, constitutional and moral duty of every citizen.
Maulana Wase urged that differences be kept within democratic and political bounds and that every attempt to divide the people, create unrest, sabotage peace or harm national unity be defeated. External interference, conspiracies and other threats, he said, can only be confronted through political awareness, national unity, constitutional supremacy and collective responsibility.
He added that the people of Balochistan want peace, dignity, development, a legitimate share in their resources, employment, political stability and a secure future for their children. All political forces must therefore respect public sentiment and ground realities and promote serious, responsible and productive politics.
JUI-F Balochistan, he said, will not leave the people alone in difficult times and will continue its role for peace, stability, democratic continuity, constitutional rights and public interests. The way out of the current crisis, he concluded, is not confrontation or accusation but purposeful dialogue, political reconciliation, justice, constitutional supremacy, public trust and genuine national consensus.
