QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – The Home Department of Balochistan, carrying out the harshest crackdown against the anti-state narrative being spread on social media, has shut down 16,367 sites and accounts. According to Secretary Home Balochistan Hamza Shafqaat, 20,117 sites spreading anti-state narrative on social media platforms had been identified, of which 81.4 percent have been blocked.

On the other hand, the Government of Balochistan has dismissed a total of 100 government employees, including 95 university teachers and 3 officials of the Health Department, on charges of spreading an anti-state narrative. Special Assistant to the Home Department of Balochistan, Babar Yousafzai, giving details in this regard, clarified that all the dismissed employees were openly violating their official oath by running an anti-Pakistan narrative.

He said in unequivocal terms that it is absolutely unacceptable that a person obtains perks and salary from the government and at the same time spreads poison against Pakistan. Babar Yousafzai expressed his determination that such elements will not be spared under any circumstances and are being dealt with with an iron hand in accordance with the law. He further said that cases against two more teachers over anti-state activities are currently pending, and strict legal action will be taken after the investigations are completed.
