Train Services in Balochistan Remain Suspended for Fifth Consecutive Day
Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail Halted Amid Security Concerns; Thousands of Passengers Stranded

Quetta: Train operations in Balochistan remain suspended for the fifth consecutive day, with **Pakistan Railways** extending the suspension of all train services between Balochistan and other provinces until **November 13**, citing **security concerns**.
As a result, the **Jaffar Express** (Quetta–Peshawar) and **Bolan Mail** (Quetta–Karachi) have remained halted, leaving **thousands of passengers stranded** and dependent on alternative, more expensive modes of transport.
A senior railway official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the suspension was “purely a precautionary measure due to security reasons” and assured that services would resume immediately once the situation normalized.
Meanwhile, passengers at **Quetta Railway Station** have expressed frustration over **delayed ticket refunds** and **increased fares** in private bus and van services. Many have urged the government and railway authorities to **restore train operations promptly** and provide **relief to affected travelers**.
Pakistan Railways has advised passengers to contact **inquiry offices** for the latest updates regarding train schedules and refund procedures.
