Another Mpox Case Reported in Karachi, Sindh Tally Rises to 42

KARACHI: Another case of mpox has been confirmed in Karachi, taking the total number of confirmed cases reported in Sindh this year to 42.

According to the Health Department, a 45-year-old resident of Surjani Town has tested positive for mpox.

Hospital officials said the patient was brought to the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital a day earlier. After rashes appeared on his body, an mpox test was conducted, and the disease was confirmed through a PCR test.

Officials said the affected patient is currently receiving treatment at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital.

The Health Department stated that 42 confirmed mpox cases have been reported in Sindh so far this year, of which 14 cases are from Karachi.
