Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Says Sindh’s “Political Feudal” Era Is Ending, Vows Continued Struggle for Imran Khan’s Release
LAHORE –Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafiq Jan has declared that the monopoly of those treating Sindh as their “political fiefdom” is now coming to an end. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), he asserted that the system imposed on the country is terrified of the political awareness instilled by PTI founder Imran Khan.
Shafiq Jan said the lawyers’ convention at the Sindh High Court Bar would prove to be a milestone for the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law. He praised Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur’s visit to Sindh as part of the ongoing “street movement,” calling it highly successful, and thanked the people of Sindh for their enthusiastic participation.
He expressed regret that obstacles were placed along the Chief Minister’s convoy route in Karachi and Hyderabad, but stressed that such petty tactics cannot weaken PTI’s resolve. He noted that despite hurdles, the Chief Minister—elected by 45 million people—traveled through unpaved roads in the darkness of night.
Shafiq Jan also claimed that the massive crowd that gathered to welcome Chief Minister Gandapur at the Karachi Toll Plaza frightened the ruling establishment. He reminded the so-called “Form-47 rulers” that the people remain Imran Khan’s real strength.
“The monopoly of those who treat Sindh as their personal political estate is ending. The system imposed on the country is afraid of the political consciousness given by Imran Khan,” he said, vowing that the political struggle will continue until Imran Khan’s release and the restoration of the Constitution.
Separately, CM Gandapur Criticizes Maryam Nawaz’s Remarks on India
In a related development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur strongly condemned Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s recent statement regarding terrorism and India. Speaking at an event organized by the Karachi Bar Association, Gandapur said that if any PTI leader had made such a statement, an FIR would have been registered against them by now. He lamented that both traditional political families have always been “favorites” of the establishment.
Gandapur criticized Maryam Nawaz’s claim that she does not perceive any threat from India, calling it completely contrary to state policy. He pointed out that Pakistan’s official narrative has consistently maintained that India is involved in fostering terrorism inside the country.
“If we speak about Afghanistan or Iran, the state immediately tells us to go there. So now, should Punjab’s Chief Minister also be sent to India? She already has friendships and personal business interests in India—but no one will say that to her because she is a favorite,” Gandapur remarked.
He reaffirmed that the political struggle for the restoration of the Constitution and the rule of law will continue with full force.
