Gas compressor blast in Nasirabad kills mother and three children from same family
NASIRABAD: A gas compressor explosion at a house in Abro Colony killed four members of the same family — a mother and her three children — while the father remains in critical condition.
According to sources, the compressor suddenly exploded at the home of Shahid Ali Abro. His two-year-old son died at the spot. Shahid Ali, his wife, another son and a daughter were seriously injured and were immediately shifted to Karachi. After three days of treatment, the wife, son and daughter also succumbed to their injuries.
The deaths of the mother and children from one household plunged the neighbourhood into grief.
Shahid Ali’s brother said the victim is a grade-four police employee who supported his family through hard work. No one, he said, had imagined that a gas compressor in the house would destroy the family’s happiness. Shahid Ali himself is still in hospital, fighting for his life.
The blast has left the family with an irreparable loss, and local residents have joined them in mourning.
