Security Forces’ Professionalism, National Resolve Foiled Terrorist Infiltration in North Waziristan: CM Balochistan
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has paid tribute to the security forces for successfully foiling an infiltration attempt from the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan and killing 15 militants, saying the operation reflected the professionalism, courage and unwavering national resolve of Pakistan’s security forces.
In a statement, Chief Minister Bugti said the security forces demonstrated remarkable patience, professionalism and bravery during the 36-hour-long operation. He said the timely thwarting of the infiltration attempt was clear evidence that Pakistan’s security forces remained fully alert and determined to defend the country’s borders.
He said terrorist elements sought to undermine Pakistan’s peace, stability and development, but state institutions and the nation were united to defeat their nefarious designs.
“The fight against terrorism is not the war of any single institution or province; it is a war of the entire nation,” the chief minister said.
He noted that the recovery of a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants further exposed their designs and plans to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan. He stressed that effective measures to eliminate terrorism backed and sponsored by foreign elements were the need of the hour.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said Pakistan had made countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism, with security personnel, law-enforcement agencies and civilians laying down their lives to strengthen the foundations of peace. He said the nation would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs.
The chief minister emphasized that under the national Resolve for Stability initiative, indiscriminate action against terrorists, their facilitators and supporting elements was essential for ensuring lasting peace in the country.
He said no terrorist group could be allowed to undermine peace and stability on Pakistani soil, adding that there would be no compromise on the country’s sovereignty, national security or protection of its borders.
Commending the successful operation, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the entire nation stood firmly with its brave armed forces and law-enforcement agencies. He vowed that the national resolve and struggle would continue until terrorism was completely eliminated and lasting peace was established across the country.
