Court Reportedly Clears PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and Wife in Momina Iqbal Harassment Case
LAHORE:A Lahore Sessions Court has, for the time being, found Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sameera, not culpable in the investigation report submitted in a case involving alleged harassment and death threats against renowned actress Momina Iqbal.
The case concerning alleged threats to actress Momina Iqbal was heard by the Sessions Court, where the actress appeared before the court along with her counsel. During the hearing, the investigating officer of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) submitted the latest investigation report.
According to the report, the agency’s preliminary investigation found that PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife Sameera were, at this stage, found not involved in the allegations. The NCCIA also informed the court that, based on the inquiry conducted so far, the arrest of either suspect was not required.
Momina Iqbal had previously filed a complaint with the cybercrime agency and police, alleging that she was being harassed through various channels and had received threats to her life. The names of the PML-N lawmaker and his wife were included in the case.
Following submission of the investigation report, the court adjourned the hearing until the next date. The complainant and her counsel are expected to examine the report before deciding on their further legal course of action.
