Iran Warns US of Tough New Strategy Across Military, Diplomatic and Economic Fronts

TEHRAN:Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, has warned the United States that Iran is preparing to adopt a new strategy on military, diplomatic and economic fronts following recent attacks, saying the consequences for Washington will be extremely severe.
According to international media reports, Rezaei said in a statement on social media platform X that the United States’ current efforts would not help it escape the “hell” it had created for itself.
Rezaei said Iran would change its methods of defense and retaliation, adding that the new strategy would target the foundations of US policy across multiple fronts, including the battlefield, diplomacy and resistance to economic sanctions.
He said the United States would soon begin to see the effects of Iran’s new strategy, stressing that Tehran would not limit its response to the military arena but would also confront Washington on diplomatic and economic fronts.
The warning comes after the United States once again targeted several positions linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reportedly causing casualties and material damage. US President Donald Trump said the strikes were carried out in response to Iran’s military activities in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran subsequently targeted US facilities and positions in Jordan and warned Gulf countries against providing military bases or assistance to the United States, threatening further attacks.
Meanwhile, two oil tankers reportedly caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after being struck by projectiles believed to have come from an unknown direction. Despite President Trump’s claims of control over the Strait of Hormuz, shipping activity in the strategically vital waterway remains extremely limited.
