Captain Zia and Other Martyrs Are True National Heroes, Says Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Emir Senator Maulana Abdul Wasay, along with General Secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah and provincial spokesperson Haji Dilawar Khan Kakar, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Ziarat Cross that resulted in the martyrdom of Captain Zia and other security personnel.

Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives, the JUI leaders described the attack as a cowardly and inhumane act of terrorism.

They said Captain Zia and the other martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense, peace and security of the country and the protection of its people were true national heroes. Their sacrifices, they added, would always be remembered and honored by the entire nation.

The leaders prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and forgiveness, and expressed solidarity with their bereaved families, saying JUI Balochistan shares their grief in this difficult time.

They said such cowardly acts of terrorism were completely unacceptable and intolerable. Those seeking to disrupt peace and spread fear and insecurity in the country were enemies of Pakistan’s peace, stability and national unity, they added.

Senator Abdul Wasay said the state institutions and government must take effective and indiscriminate action against terrorists, their facilitators and their patrons, dismantle their entire network and bring those responsible for the martyrs’ deaths to justice.

The JUI leaders said JUI Balochistan highly values the sacrifices rendered by security forces for the defense of the country and protection of citizens’ lives and property.

They stressed the need for an effective, comprehensive and long-term national strategy against terrorism to ensure lasting peace and stability in Pakistan.
