Rare Falcon Sets New Auction Record at Abu Dhabi International Exhibition
ABU DHABI: A rare ultra-white pure Gyr-Gyrfalcon has set a new auction record at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2026), selling for AED 1.5 million, equivalent to more than Rs110 million.
According to the exhibition administration, the falcon became the most expensive bird sold during the current edition’s auctions. The exceptionally rare falcon was bred by the renowned Mark Muglch Farm in the United States.
The bird weighs approximately 1,000 grams, while both its length and wingspan measure around 16.5 inches.
The falcon attracted significant attention from bidders because of its completely white plumage as well as its exceptional physical and hunting capabilities.
ADNEC Group Managing Director and Group CEO Hamid Matar Al Dhaheri, commenting on the record sale, said the historic AED 1.5 million bid highlighted the global stature and significance of the ADIHEX auction.
He said the achievement represented an important step toward establishing Abu Dhabi as a global hub for falcon breeding and preserving traditional Emirati culture for future generations.
More than 55 prominent local and international falcon breeding farms from the United Arab Emirates and around the world are participating in the 2026 edition of ADIHEX.
