Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar to Be Celebrated on March 20

Saudi Arabia’s Crescent Sighting Committee has confirmed that the moon of Shawwal was not sighted, officially marking Friday, March 20, 2026, as the day for Eid-ul-Fitr.

Observatories across various Saudi cities held meetings to sight the crescent, and the Saudi Supreme Court had also appealed to citizens to report any sightings. After reviewing all reports from observatories and committees, the court declared that Ramadan 1447 AH will complete 30 days, making 20 March the first day of Shawwal 1447 AH.

Similarly, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar also announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, following crescent sighting meetings that confirmed the moon was not visible.

These announcements allow residents across the Gulf region to prepare for the festival and mark the end of Ramadan with celebrations on the same day.
