Pakistani Actor Sohail Sameer Apologizes Over Viral Inappropriate Video
LAHORE:Pakistani actor Sohail Sameer has apologized to his fans and the public over an inappropriate video clip that recently resurfaced on social media.
A few days ago, a clip featuring the actor alongside a female actress went viral. The footage was reportedly from a film made around a decade ago, but its scenes disappointed and upset many social media users.
Sohail Sameer subsequently addressed the controversy himself on social media and apologized to those who were hurt or disappointed by the clip.
“I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart to everyone who was hurt, distressed or disappointed because of this viral clip. The clip is approximately 10 years old,” he said.
The actor acknowledged that he may not have realized at the time that something from his past could resurface in the future. However, he said the incident made him reflect on how he would feel if similar material involving a member of his own family were to emerge.
“I am truly ashamed and regretful that I should not have done such content at that time, regardless of the circumstances,” Sohail Sameer said.
He added that it takes years to build respect and reputation, but only a moment to damage it. The actor said he accepted his mistake, expressed deep remorse and appealed to everyone to forgive him.
