National Party Makes Its Own Decisions, Tells PKMAP Leader to Focus on His Party
QUETTA: The National Party has said it makes its own political decisions through its central leadership, constitutional institutions and collective consultation, urging the provincial president of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) to focus on his own party and leadership.
In a statement, the National Party’s central spokesperson said the party had a clear political, democratic and national programme and did not interfere in the internal affairs, organizational decisions or political strategies of other parties.
Reacting to a statement issued by the PKMAP provincial president a day earlier, the spokesperson said political leaders should refrain from commenting on the internal decisions of other parties, giving instructions to their leadership or attempting to influence their political choices.
The spokesperson said every political party had the right to make decisions based on its manifesto, constitution, organizational structure and mutual consultation, adding that democratic conduct and political tolerance should be expected from all political parties.
The spokesperson praised National Party President Dr Abdul Malik Baloch for his democratic outlook and clear political position, saying his stance was appreciated by democratic parties and politically conscious circles across the country.
According to the statement, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch had consistently opposed the use of force in Balochistan on every forum and had presented 17 points to the federal government aimed at restoring an atmosphere of trust. The National Party believes that implementation of these proposals can help bring peace and security to Balochistan.
The spokesperson said the National Party firmly believed in collective leadership, institutional decision-making, political consultation and democratic principles. Party decisions, he added, were based on collective thinking, organizational institutions and political principles rather than personal wishes or the preferences of any individual.
The National Party said it supported political engagement and cooperation with all democratic and nationalist forces in Balochistan on the basis of mutual respect and principles to advance the struggle for political, democratic and national rights.
However, the spokesperson made it clear that the party would not accept any form of political interference in its internal affairs.
