I Was Taken to Shifa Hospital, but Imran Khan Was Not Brought There, Says Personal Physician Dr Faisal Sultan

ISLAMABAD: PTI founder Imran Khan’s personal physician, Dr Faisal Sultan, has said that Imran Khan is physically fit, has improved vision and a normal blood pressure of 120/80.

Addressing a press conference, Dr Faisal strongly denied reports that he had been abducted. Smiling, he said there was no such incident and that the security personnel had behaved very politely. However, he explained that he could not contact anyone because he did not have his mobile phone and was required to follow security protocols, which may have led to the misunderstanding.

Giving details of the events, Dr Faisal said he was called to the hospital at around 12:30 to 12:45 a.m. He waited for approximately two and a half to three hours in the waiting area of Shifa International Hospital for Imran Khan.

He said that when Imran Khan had not arrived by around 4:30 a.m., he was informed that the PTI founder would not be brought to the hospital. He was subsequently taken to Adiala Jail along with other vehicles around the time of the Fajr prayer, where he examined Imran Khan.

Regarding Imran Khan’s eye condition, Dr Faisal said there was a minor hemorrhage in his eye for which he had been given an injection, resulting in improvement.

He said Imran Khan’s condition was currently stable. However, as a precautionary measure, he may require follow-up eye examinations and potentially additional injections in the future.
