Arrangements Completed to Shift Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Hospital

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily): Arrangements have reportedly been completed to shift Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a hospital for medical treatment.
According to ARY News, Inspector General of Islamabad Police and senior police officials reached Shifa International Hospital, where senior officers briefed the Islamabad police chief on security arrangements.
Sources said preparations for Imran Khan’s possible transfer from Adiala Jail to the hospital had been completed.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said there was no deadline for transferring Imran Khan to a hospital for treatment. He said the government’s review petition was expected to be decided either today or tomorrow, after which the situation would become clearer.
Speaking to the media, Rana Sanaullah said the government had filed a review petition and was bound by the Constitution and law. He argued that the government believed the Supreme Court’s decision could affect the criminal justice system.
He questioned whether the decision would mean that every prisoner could subsequently be shifted to a private hospital.
Responding to another question, Rana Sanaullah said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had his own medical facility, but he had been taken from jail to a government Services Hospital. He added that a medical board of doctors had recommended treatment abroad for Nawaz Sharif.
