Armed Men Target Commercial Vehicles on Chagai-Nushki Trade Route; Vehicles Set Ablaze and Seized
QUETTA: Armed men reportedly targeted commercial vehicles on the Chagai-Nushki trade routes, setting at least three vehicles on fire and taking two loaded vehicles into their custody, according to sources.
In Chagai’s Padag Charser area, armed men intercepted commercial vehicles travelling along the Quetta-Taftan trade route. During the incident, one commercial vehicle was set on fire, while two loaded vehicles were reportedly taken away by the armed men.
Sources said the attackers stopped vehicles along the trade route and carried out the operation. A driver of one of the vehicles allegedly attempted to flee the scene, but the armed men reportedly set the vehicle on fire.
No casualties have been reported so far in the incident.
Meanwhile, in Nushki’s Zareen Jungle area, unidentified armed men reportedly opened fire on the tyres of two vehicles travelling as part of a commercial convoy on the Nushki-Kharan main highway, disabling them.
According to sources, the armed men were also reportedly maintaining a blockade at the location.
No loss of life has been reported in the Nushki incident either.
