Balochistan Demands Increase in Assembly Seats Under 27th Constitutional Amendment

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily):** Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Secretary General **Senator Manzoor Kakar** has strongly demanded an increase in the number of **Balochistan Assembly seats** under the proposed **27th Constitutional Amendment**, calling it a matter of fairness and national interest.

In an exclusive interview with a private TV channel, Senator Kakar urged coalition partners to ensure that the amendment includes provisions for greater representation of Balochistan. He emphasized that the province faces **higher population density, unemployment, and developmental challenges** compared to other regions, making additional assembly seats essential for addressing long-standing issues.

The senator recalled that this demand was previously raised during discussions on the **26th Constitutional Amendment**, noting that without proper representation, Balochistan’s problems cannot be effectively resolved at the national level.

Kakar also appealed to the **people of Balochistan** to support this demand and to **press their political leaders** to secure enhanced provincial representation in the upcoming amendment.
