Saleh Zafir Stands by Report About Items Recovered from PM House During Nawaz Sharif’s Tenure

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily): Senior journalist and analyst Saleh Zafir has reiterated his stance on a past report concerning the Prime Minister’s House during the tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, saying he neither apologizes for any report he has published nor denies its authenticity.
Speaking during a television program, Saleh Zafir said that there was certainly information available at the time regarding items allegedly recovered from the Prime Minister’s House, and the report had been published on the basis of that information.

He said that regardless of who a news report concerns or what its nature may be, it is the responsibility of a journalist to bring the information before the public and report it.
On the occasion, Saleh Zafir praised the present Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for what he described as their magnanimity.
He said it was a sign of their generosity that, despite his having published a report concerning them, he was later nominated for a civil award.
According to Zafir, the award represented an acknowledgment of “worldly realities” and demonstrated that differences over a news report did not necessarily prevent recognition of a journalist’s professional contribution.
