Burj Khalifa Illuminated in Pakistani Flag Colors on Independence Day
DUBAI: The Burj Khalifa was illuminated in the colors of the Pakistani flag to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day.
The iconic landmark joined Pakistanis and the people of the United Arab Emirates in celebrating the occasion, with the display serving as a tribute to Pakistan and its people.
People across the UAE participated in the Independence Day celebrations, reflecting the close and friendly ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Independence Day was also celebrated with traditional enthusiasm at the Pakistan High Commission in London.
Kashmir Committee Chairman Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon attended the ceremony as the chief guest. A large number of members of the Pakistani community, media representatives and officials of the Pakistan High Commission participated in the event along with their families.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan High Commission in London, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Tıpı Osman hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Messages from the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were also read out on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, High Commissioner Tıpı Osman paid tribute to the vision and sacrifices of the founders of Pakistan. He praised the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and paid tribute to the men and women whose unwavering unity, struggle and determination made Pakistan’s independence possible.
The high commissioner described Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom as true ambassadors of Pakistan. He appreciated the hard work, dedication and commitment of the Pakistani community, saying they were playing an important role in strengthening ties between Pakistan and the UK and serving as a bridge between the two countries.
