August 14 Is a Day to Renew Our National Commitment: Balochistan IG Police
QUETTA: Balochistan Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir has congratulated the nation, particularly the people of Balochistan, on Pakistan’s Independence Day, saying August 14 provides an opportunity to renew the national commitment alongside celebrating the great blessing of freedom.
He was speaking at a flag-hoisting ceremony held at the Central Police Office in Quetta to mark Independence Day. Additional IG Administration Javed Ali Mehr, Additional IG Operations Shahzad Akbar, Additional IG and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary Ashfaq Ahmed, DIG Headquarters Hassan Asad Alvi and DIG Quetta Police Imran Shaukat, among other senior officers, attended the ceremony.
IG Tahir said Balochistan was an important and integral part of Pakistan and that the people of the province had played a significant role in the country’s security, stability and development since the creation of Pakistan. He expressed confidence that they would continue to contribute actively to national progress.
He said Independence Day conveyed a message to the entire nation, particularly the youth, to play a meaningful, positive and constructive role in the country’s development according to their abilities.
The Balochistan police chief paid tribute to the martyrs who had rendered great sacrifices for the creation and survival of Pakistan. He also praised the contributions of veterans and people from all walks of life whose individual and collective sacrifices had enabled the nation to live in freedom and with dignity.
He said the nation had already made a commitment to continue serving the country with full national spirit and would not hesitate to make sacrifices for Pakistan’s peace, stability and security, both today and in the future.
