IGFC South Visits Dalbandin, Vows Joint Efforts for Lasting Peace in Chagai

Dalbandin:Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) South, Major General Bilal Sarfaraz, paid a special visit to Dalbandin on Friday, where he met tribal elders, notables, district administration, and senior police officials to discuss local affairs and security challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, Major General Bilal Sarfaraz stressed that sustainable peace in Chagai is a shared responsibility of the government, security forces, and local communities. He appreciated the efforts of tribal leaders in maintaining law and order in the region.

Paying tribute to Captain Waqar Kakar, who was martyred in Dasht during a recent militant attack, the IGFC South described him as a brave and patriotic Baloch officer. He vowed that FC and other law enforcement agencies would continue targeted operations against terrorists and their facilitators to ensure lasting stability in the area.

Highlighting the threat, he said militants were using explosives to carry out cowardly attacks, causing losses to both security personnel and innocent civilians. He revealed that evidence had surfaced regarding the smuggling of explosives through oil border crossings, which led to the temporary suspension of certain routes. Efforts are now underway to reopen Rajae border crossing on a priority basis, with advanced scanners being installed to ensure safe oil trade and transport.

Rejecting claims that all border trade points were closed, Major General Sarfaraz clarified that officially notified trade and transit crossings remain operational, and additional routes, including Katagar, would be reopened soon.

On development projects, he announced that under the **Balochistan Special Development Initiative**, projects worth Rs. 411 million had been approved for Chagai district, with funds directly allocated to the district administration for immediate execution. He urged local youth to benefit from skill development centers and acquire technical training to secure dignified employment opportunities in the region.
