Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi Hoists National Flag at Governor House on Independence Day
KARACHI: Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi hoisted the national flag at the Governor House in Karachi on the occasion of Independence Day and offered prayers for the security, prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Hashmi said that “work, work and more work” should be the nation’s guiding principle. He said Independence Day was an occasion to remember the people who struggled and made sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan.
The Sindh governor said Pakistan had become militarily invincible. He added that when India challenged Pakistan’s defence, Field Marshal Asim Munir gave a strong response, after which, he claimed, the world acknowledged Pakistan’s strength.
Hashmi also stressed the importance of cleanliness, saying it was the responsibility of every citizen to keep their homes, schools, neighbourhoods and cities clean.
He urged every Pakistani to play their role in the development and prosperity of the country, saying collective efforts were essential for building a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan.
