Five Extortionists Arrested in Karachi Operation; Two Injured in Exchange of Fire

Karachi: In a joint operation against an extortion gang, Rangers and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested five suspects in Karachi, officials confirmed.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the operation was conducted in the PIB Colony area of the city, where the suspects were apprehended.

During the raid, the accused allegedly opened fire on law enforcement personnel. In retaliatory firing, two of the most wanted suspects were arrested in injured condition, the spokesperson added.

Authorities said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects.

The Rangers further stated that the group was involved in extorting money from factory owners, builders, and other business figures in the city.
