Improving Healthcare Infrastructure and Providing Modern Facilities Top Priority: Bakhth Muhammad Kakar
QUETTA: Balochistan Health Minister Bakhth Muhammad Kakar has said that improving the province’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring better facilities in hospitals and extending medical services to remote areas are among the government’s top priorities.
Speaking to various delegations, the minister said the performance of government hospitals across the province, staff attendance, availability of medicines and new development projects would be reviewed.
Bakhth Muhammad Kakar said the people of Balochistan would not be deprived of basic healthcare facilities. He said modern medical equipment would be provided to hospitals at district and tehsil levels, while the deployment of specialist doctors and trained nursing staff would also be ensured.
The health minister directed officials of the Health Department to activate mobile health units in remote and underdeveloped areas so that residents of mountainous and desert regions could receive timely medical treatment.
He further said a modern digital system was being introduced to monitor the supply of medicines at hospitals across the province. The system, he added, would help curb corruption, mismanagement and hoarding.
Bakhth Muhammad Kakar expressed his commitment to increasing cooperation with the World Health Organization and other welfare organizations to bring Balochistan’s healthcare system in line with international standards.
He urged the public to support the government’s ongoing healthcare reforms and immediately report any complaints or problems to the relevant authorities.
