Government Announces Changes in Petrol and Diesel Prices

ISLAMABAD: The government has announced changes in the prices of petroleum products, reducing the price of petrol by Rs1.70 per litre while increasing the price of diesel by Rs1.39 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been set at Rs325.92 per litre, while diesel will now cost Rs382.25 per litre.
The new prices will take effect from midnight tonight and have been fixed for one day.
Previously, petrol was priced at Rs327.62 per litre, while diesel was available at Rs380.86 per litre.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices showed an upward trend in the international market on Tuesday.
According to Bloomberg, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for September rose by $1.50 to settle at $83.63 per barrel, while Brent North Sea crude contracts for October increased by $1.59 to $89.31 per barrel.
In the commodities market, gold prices also moved higher, rising by $3.30 to $4,423 per ounce, while silver declined by $0.60 to $64.68 per ounce.
Corn futures for December increased by $0.25 to $462 per bushel, while December wheat contracts rose by $1.25 to $660.50 per bushel.
