Independence Day Celebrations Gain Momentum in Balochistan as Female Boxer Abida Batool Wins Gold

QUETTA: Independence Day celebrations are gaining momentum across Balochistan, with sports grounds bustling with activities and residents displaying strong enthusiasm and patriotism.

With the beginning of August, Independence Day activities have started across Quetta and other parts of the province. Sporting events are being organized under the national flag, attracting large participation from men and women and providing young people with opportunities to engage in healthy and positive activities.

In Quetta, Independence Athletes competitions were organized as part of the celebrations, with male and female athletes participating enthusiastically.

The final of the Independence Athletes competitions, which began at Musa Stadium on August 7, was held on August 9.

A major highlight of the celebrations was the performance of Quetta’s female boxer Abida Batool, who achieved a notable milestone by winning a gold medal in her first international competition.

Batool defeated her Sri Lankan opponent to secure the gold medal, setting an example for women athletes in Balochistan.

Speaking about her achievement, Batool said remaining focused on a clear goal strengthens the determination to succeed.

She emphasized that women should come forward not only for their own development but also to represent Pakistan and Balochistan.

The Independence Day activities are helping promote national spirit among the youth of Balochistan while encouraging them to participate in positive, healthy and constructive activities.
