Abdullah Shafique Becomes First Pakistani in 49 Years to Score 150 in a Test in West Indies

Port of Spain:** Pakistan opener **Abdullah Shafique** etched his name into the record books after becoming the first Pakistani batter in **49 years** to score **150 or more runs** in a Test match in the West Indies.

Shafique produced a magnificent **160-run innings** during the Port of Spain Test, ending a long-standing milestone for Pakistan in Caribbean conditions.

The previous Pakistani to achieve the feat was **Majid Khan**, who scored **167 runs** in **Guyana** in **1977**.

The innings also highlighted Shafique’s remarkable consistency overseas, as **three of Pakistan’s last four Test scores of 150 or more away from home have been recorded by him**.

Pakistan went on to defeat the West Indies by **eight wickets** in the second Test, securing an impressive overseas victory.

The win marked Pakistan’s first Test victory abroad since defeating **Sri Lanka** in their own backyard in **2023**.
