KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Announces Long March to Islamabad on September 27

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced a long march toward Islamabad on September 27, 2026, calling for what he described as fair legal proceedings for former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan.

Announcing the march, Afridi demanded that Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, be allowed to meet their family members and personal physicians. He also called for their legal cases to be heard on merit.

“Our demand is that the cases be decided on merit and that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi be allowed access to their families and personal doctors,” Afridi said.

Separately, PTI leader Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed the announcement, saying the party would launch the long march on September 27.

According to Sheikh Waqas Akram, PTI supporters chanted slogans in favor of marching toward D-Chowk during Afridi’s address. In response, Afridi said the long march would instead be directed toward Adiala Jail.

The announcement comes amid PTI’s continued campaign calling for the release of Imran Khan and raising concerns over his detention and ongoing legal proceedings.
