Balochistan Government Claims Record Completion of Development Projects in Previous Fiscal Year
QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has announced that, for the first time in the province’s history, it successfully achieved its annual development targets by completing all budgeted development projects during the previous fiscal year.
The announcement was made during a Secretaries Committee meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where officials reviewed the progress of development projects from both the previous and current fiscal years.
According to the briefing, the provincial government saved Rs28 billion in non-development expenditures while successfully completing 2,966 development projects, describing the achievement as a milestone in the transparent, efficient, and effective utilization of public development funds.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zhoor Ahmed Buledi, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, the Secretary of Planning and Development, and senior government officials.
Planning and Development Minister Mir Zhoor Ahmed Buledi presented the performance report for the previous fiscal year, while Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan informed the meeting that the government had fully met its development targets and ensured the completion of all projects approved in the provincial budget.
Officials also briefed the meeting that work is currently underway on 2,280 development projects during the ongoing fiscal year. They said a comprehensive monitoring and supervision mechanism has been established to ensure the timely completion of all schemes.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti praised the Planning and Development Department, the Chief Secretary, and other officials for achieving the development targets and announced commendation certificates in recognition of their performance.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said the timely completion of development projects reflects improved governance, effective monitoring, and strong administrative oversight. He reaffirmed that every rupee allocated for development would be spent on public welfare and sustainable growth, adding that there would be no compromise on transparency, quality, or the pace of development projects.
He further stated that the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team and the Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate would continue to strengthen oversight to prevent corruption and ensure the transparent use of development funds.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to completing the current fiscal year’s development targets on schedule so that the benefits of development reach every district and citizen of Balochistan.
