Balochistan Launches Chief Minister Youth Employment Program to Train and Employ 1,000 Young People
Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has launched the Chief Minister Youth Employment Program, a major initiative aimed at equipping young people with modern technical skills and creating sustainable employment opportunities across the province.
Under the program, 1,000 talented and deserving youth from across Balochistan will receive professional training and employment opportunities at some of Pakistan’s leading software houses.
The flagship initiative is being implemented jointly by the Balochistan Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (B-TEVTA) and Q-Tech. Applications were received through an online portal, and the program has now entered its implementation phase.
To ensure transparency and merit, shortlisted candidates from all districts of Balochistan have been participating in tests and interviews over the past three days. Thousands of students from remote areas have taken part in the selection process, reflecting growing interest in the information technology sector.
A key feature of the program is that the Government of Balochistan will bear all training, accommodation, and related expenses through B-TEVTA, ensuring that participants can focus entirely on developing their professional skills without any financial burden.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the initiative is designed to prepare the province’s youth for the modern digital economy by providing practical training and direct pathways to employment.
Students and their parents from across the province welcomed the initiative, saying that professional IT training and employment opportunities would help showcase Balochistan’s talent at both national and international levels while contributing to the reduction of unemployment in the province.
