205 Traffic Accidents Reported on Quetta–Karachi Highway in July, 14 Killed and 193 Injured

Quetta: A total of 205 traffic accidents were reported during July 2026 on national highways in Lasbela district, particularly on the Quetta–Karachi Highway (N-25) and the Makran Coastal Highway (N-10), leaving 14 people dead and 193 others injured, according to a report issued by Rescue 1122.

The report described the figures as alarming and warned of increasing risks for motorists traveling on these highways. Rescue 1122 teams responded to the incidents by providing emergency medical assistance, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals, and treating several others at their outpatient facilities.

According to the report:

Tiara Rescue 1122 Center (N-25): 52 accidents, 62 injuries, and 2 fatalities. An additional 16 people received treatment at the center’s outpatient department.
Liari Rescue 1122 Center (N-10): 74 accidents, 90 injuries, and 1 fatality. A total of 19 people were treated at the center’s outpatient facility.
Liari Four Rescue Center (N-10): 30 accidents, resulting in 37 injuries and 1 death. Six people received outpatient medical care.
Rasmalan Rescue 1122 Center: 44 accidents, leaving 16 people injured. No fatalities were reported, while 16 individuals were treated through the center’s outpatient services.

Rescue officials said that the majority of the accidents were caused by speeding, reckless driving, unsafe overtaking, driver negligence, fatigue, adverse weather conditions, and poor road conditions in certain areas. They added that timely rescue operations helped save many lives despite the high number of incidents.

Traffic experts noted that the Quetta–Karachi Highway (N-25) has long been regarded as one of Pakistan’s most dangerous roads due to heavy daily traffic and a high accident rate. They also pointed out that increasing tourism and commercial activity on the Makran Coastal Highway (N-10) has led to heavier traffic, raising the likelihood of road accidents.

Rescue 1122 and other relevant authorities urged motorists and transport operators to strictly follow traffic laws, avoid overspeeding and dangerous overtaking, ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, wear seat belts and helmets where applicable, and take adequate rest before long journeys.

Officials also pledged to further strengthen rescue and emergency services on national highways and expand public road safety awareness campaigns to help reduce traffic accidents and save lives.
