Balochistan Home Minister Holds Talks with Traders, Assures Resolution of Issues and Improved Highway Security

Quetta: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove held talks with a delegation of the traders’ community led by Anjuman-e-Tajiran Balochistan President Rahim Agha to discuss security concerns and business-related issues in the province.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant for Home Affairs Babar Yousafzai, the Deputy Commissioner Quetta, and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Langove said that peaceful protest is the democratic right of every citizen, adding that the government respects the right of traders to express their concerns. However, he emphasized that resolving public issues remains the government’s responsibility.

The home minister assured the traders that the provincial government would make every effort to address their concerns and announced that another meeting would be held the following day to continue discussions and seek practical solutions.

Referring to the security situation, Langove stated that Afghan territory is being used for terrorist activities in Balochistan, and alleged that certain elements, backed by hostile foreign interests, are attempting to create instability in the province. He added that targeting innocent youth and women is against the traditions and values of Balochistan.

The minister also said that the government is taking emergency measures to improve security on national highways, which have witnessed attacks on transport vehicles in recent months. He reiterated that the government is fully prepared to cooperate with the business community and ensure a safer environment for trade and economic activities.

During the meeting, representatives of the traders’ community expressed concerns over incidents involving the burning of trucks and oil tankers on Balochistan’s highways. They also raised reservations regarding matters related to the Metropolitan Corporation and urged the government to take immediate steps to address their issues.

The discussions concluded with both sides agreeing to continue dialogue aimed at improving security, protecting businesses, and resolving the concerns of the trading community.
