PkMAP Calls for Independent Probe into Civilian Killing in Hanna Urak

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the killing of Riaz Khan, son of Khudai Noor Lala, in the Hanna Urak area and called for an independent, transparent, and impartial investigation into the incident.
In a statement issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, PkMAP alleged that Riaz Khan was riding his motorcycle home when he came under fire from security forces at the “Do Rodna” location, resulting in his death. The party further claimed that his body had not yet been handed over to his family, describing the situation as a violation of humanitarian, legal, and ethical principles.
The statement also alleged that armed groups have remained active in Hanna Urak, Harnai, Dukki, Zarghoon Ghar, Takatu, Shaban, Mangla, Shahrag, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, and other areas, and claimed that insufficient action against these groups has left local residents feeling unsafe.
PkMAP further criticized what it described as the government’s failure to implement written commitments made after the July 5 attack in Killi Babri, Hanna Urak, and the Ziarat incident, arguing that timely implementation of those commitments could have helped prevent similar tragedies.
The party demanded an impartial investigation into Riaz Khan’s death, legal action against those found responsible, the immediate return of the body to his family, effective measures to clear affected areas of armed groups, and stronger protection for civilians.
The statement concluded by reaffirming PkMAP’s commitment to pursuing what it described as a democratic and constitutional struggle for the protection of citizens’ fundamental, constitutional, legal, and human rights.
