Despite Spending Rs. 87 Billion on Security, Balochistan Remains Plagued by Insecurity, Says Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch

**Quetta:** Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly, has criticized the provincial government and security agencies, stating that despite spending Rs. 87 billion on security, the people of Balochistan continue to suffer from insecurity, oppression, and lack of safety. He alleged that security forces are engaged in other activities instead of providing peace to the public.
Addressing delegations and a meeting in Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch said that the rulers and security agencies should ensure real peace for the people of Balochistan instead of resorting to military operations, use of force, and gun politics. He added that the responsibility for the prevailing insecurity and oppression lies squarely with the government and security forces.
He further highlighted that the people of Balochistan are confined to their homes, highways are blocked, internet services are suspended, and businesses, markets, and trade centers are at a standstill. Employment opportunities for youth are scarce, and citizens have no access to security, commerce, industry, or agriculture. Additionally, border closures with Iran and Afghanistan have worsened the situation.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch said that injustice, insecurity, oppression, and tyranny are rampant throughout the province. Neither citizens, traders, transporters, children, nor students are safe, while security officials continue to make empty claims and announcements, and the government remains a silent spectator.
He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami will not remain silent against oppression, injustice, insecurity, and corruption and will raise its voice against all forms of tyranny, lawlessness, and malpractice. He demanded that the government and security agencies provide peace to the people of Balochistan under all circumstances.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rahman Baloch urged authorities to take serious steps for genuine peace rather than relying on false claims, ineffective announcements, or blame games. He stressed that peace cannot be achieved through force, bullets, or military operations and called for meaningful dialogue, provision of rights and employment, and efforts to win the hearts of the people with dignity and respect.
