Field Marshal Asim Munir, U.S. Lawmakers Discuss Regional Stability, Economic Cooperation

Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with a delegation of U.S. members of Congress at the General Headquarters (GHQ), where both sides discussed regional security, bilateral defense cooperation, economic collaboration, and opportunities to enhance mutual prosperity.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and ways to strengthen defense and economic ties between Pakistan and the United States.

During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s vast economic potential, emphasizing that sustainable regional stability depends on economic growth, expanded trade, and stronger regional connectivity.

He also briefed the delegation on Pakistan’s ongoing reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment and attracting greater foreign investment.

The ISPR stated that the U.S. congressional delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral economic, trade, and institutional relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on expanding economic partnerships, increasing private-sector collaboration, and enhancing trade ties between Pakistan and the United States.
