28 Undocumented Afghan Nationals Detained at Hironk Check Post in Kech
Kech: Makran Range Police have detained 28 undocumented Afghan nationals during a routine security check at the Hironk Check Post as part of an intensified crackdown on illegal movement in the region.
According to police, the operation was carried out during routine vehicle inspections and verification of travel documents aimed at maintaining law and order, preventing illegal movement, and ensuring strict enforcement of immigration laws.
A police statement said officers stationed at the Hironk Check Post stopped a passenger van on suspicion and conducted a thorough inspection of all passengers’ identities, travel documents, and residency status. During the verification process, authorities found that 28 Afghan nationals were traveling without the required legal travel or residency documents.
The detainees include 14 men, 8 women, and 6 children. All were taken into custody and shifted to the relevant police station, where their records are being compiled and legal proceedings are underway in accordance with Pakistan’s immigration laws.
Police said the detainees’ biometric data and identification details are being verified before they are handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
Authorities added that surveillance at entry and exit points across the Makran Division has been further strengthened to curb illegal movement, human trafficking, and the entry of undocumented individuals. Security checks on highways and key access routes will continue without interruption.
Kech Police reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting citizens, and ensuring effective monitoring of border and internal routes. They also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activities or illegal movement to the relevant authorities promptly.
