Attack on Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind’s Deputy in Jhal Magsi; Tribesmen Capture Suspects After Pursuit as Police, Administration Remain Absent

JHAL MAGSI: Unknown armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire on the vehicle of Muhammad Azeem Rind, deputy to tribal leader Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, near Marwar on the Gandawah–Notal Road in Jhal Magsi district late Sunday night. Despite multiple bullets striking the vehicle and its tyres being blown out, all passengers miraculously survived without any casualties.
According to sources, the attack triggered tension across the area. Upon receiving information about the incident, prominent members of the Rind tribe, including Wadera Ali Ahmed Rind from Dhadar and Wadera Fida Ali Rind, Mir Habib Rind, Babul Jan Rind, Malik Riaz Rind, Nisar Rind, Akram Rind, Amir Rind, and Amjad Rind from Sibi, along with numerous tribesmen, rushed to the scene and began tracking the attackers.
Sources said that the pursuit led to the camp of Abdul Nabi Abro of the Dharpali (Abro) tribe, where an exchange of gunfire reportedly took place between armed individuals present at the camp and members of the Rind tribe. Following the confrontation, the Rind tribesmen reportedly apprehended three suspected armed men.
The three suspects were subsequently taken to the Rind Fort in Shoran, where they are reportedly being held in tribal custody. The incident has heightened tensions in the area and raised concerns among local residents.
So far, neither the police nor the district administration has issued an official statement confirming the incident or providing details regarding the attack. The identities of the detained individuals and the motives behind the assault have also not been officially disclosed.
Security sources stated that the incident is being investigated from various angles and that authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Local sources described the attack as a significant development with regard to law and order in the region.
Tribal elders have urged all parties to avoid escalating tensions and emphasized that the matter should be resolved in accordance with the law. Meanwhile, residents have called on law enforcement agencies to conduct a transparent investigation and bring those responsible to justice.
