PTI’s August 5 Rally Will Be a Semi-Final, Plan of Action to Be Presented to the Nation: Sohail Afridi

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for August 5 will serve as a semi-final, during which the party’s plan of action will be placed before the nation. He added that responsibilities for the rally have already been assigned to all members.Addressing a parliamentary session, Afridi said the venue of the rally has been shifted near the Peshawar Motorway for the convenience of the public. He noted that since October 15, 2025, the party has pursued all legal avenues and efforts at mutual understanding. The PTI leadership was keen to resolve issues through negotiations, but opponents did not respond to these positive initiatives.Afridi further said that efforts were made to meet Imran Khan by approaching the High Court and the Supreme Court. Meetings were sought with the Chief Justices of the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court. At one event, the matter of meeting Imran Khan was raised in the presence of the Chief Justice, as it is his constitutional and legal right as Chief Minister to meet his party leader.He emphasized that implementing provincial decisions in line with Imran Khan’s vision is their responsibility. The people voted in the name of the PTI founder, and rejecting that mandate is an insult to 4.5 crore citizens. He alleged that the federal government is treating the elected provincial government like second-class citizens.The Chief Minister demanded that Imran Khan’s family, sisters, and doctors be provided the best possible medical facilities. He described the PTI founder as a national asset and the most popular political leader. Despite defeating opponents in every narrative, the issues remain unresolved. Peaceful protest is now the last constitutional option, a right granted to every citizen under the Constitution.
