Nine-Year-Old Girl Dies in Lahore Water Park Pool; Three Arrested Over Alleged Negligence

LAHORE:A nine-year-old girl from Dubai died after an alleged safety lapse at a private water park in Lahore, prompting police to arrest three people, including the facility’s manager.

The victim, **Rahmeen Fatima**, had recently arrived in Lahore from Dubai to spend her school holidays with relatives. She was visiting her maternal family in Misri Shah and, on July 13, went to a private swimming pool near Jallo Morr with other children.

According to police and family members, the girl disappeared while swimming. After an extensive search, her body was recovered from the **third drainage manhole** connected to the pool.

Police registered a case and arrested the water park manager along with two other individuals as part of the investigation into the incident.

The girl’s father, Muhammad Nadeem, said Rahmeen was the couple’s only child, born after nine years of marriage. He alleged that the pool staff opened the drainage system while children were still swimming and that there were no protective safety grilles covering the drainage openings.

The grieving father described the incident as **criminal negligence**, arguing that opening drainage holes during swimming hours without proper safety measures endangered the lives of children.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine responsibility for the incident and whether safety regulations were violated.
