IG FC Balochistan Meets Tribal Elders in Chaman, Assures Relief on Border Issues and Inaugurates IT Centre

Chaman: Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, Major General Atif Mujtaba, accompanied by Brigadier Shakeel Ahmed, held a meeting with tribal elders from Chaman, Toba Achakzai, and surrounding areas to discuss border-related issues, public welfare, and cross-border movement along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The meeting focused on easing travel for commuters, facilitating the movement of patients requiring urgent medical treatment, and addressing concerns of the Laghari community under the relevant relief package. Tribal elders highlighted the social, economic, commercial, and family ties shared by communities on both sides of the border and emphasized the need for a more convenient border crossing mechanism.

Participants also discussed measures to improve facilities for elderly people, women, children, and patients, as well as procedures for emergency cross-border movement. Tribal representatives urged authorities to simplify border travel and strengthen livelihood opportunities for residents of Chaman and nearby border areas.

Major General Atif Mujtaba assured the delegation that every possible effort would be made to provide maximum relief to the people of Chaman, Toba Achakzai, and other border regions. He said consultations with relevant institutions would continue to address the concerns of local residents, facilitate patients and travelers, and improve support for the Laghari community.

He also emphasized that engagement with tribal elders would continue to ensure timely resolution of public issues and strengthen cooperation between local communities and the authorities.

Separately, the IG FC inaugurated a modern Information Technology (IT) Centre at the Government Girls Degree College, Chaman. The new facility aims to equip female students with computer education, digital literacy, and modern IT skills to enhance their educational and career opportunities.

College officials, teachers, students, and local authorities attended the inauguration ceremony and welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step toward improving educational facilities and promoting digital learning for young women in the region.
