Sialkot Will Witness Revolutionary Development, Says Khawaja Asif at Faiz Ahmed Faiz Flyover Inauguration

Sialkot: Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Sialkot is set to undergo revolutionary development, crediting former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for gifting the city a motorway project that will significantly improve connectivity and economic growth.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Flyover in Sialkot, Khawaja Asif said the bridge had been named after the renowned revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz as a tribute to his literary and cultural contributions.
He stated that the flyover would help improve the flow of traffic in the city and reaffirmed that his party believes in the politics of public service and development.
Khawaja Asif criticized the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for failing to complete the project during its tenure. He announced that work on the first phase of the city’s Ring Road project would begin soon, while construction on the Kharian Motorway is progressing rapidly.
The defence minister also praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for paying special attention to the beautification and development of Sialkot, noting that she has allocated billions of rupees in development funds for the city.
Highlighting the importance of infrastructure projects, Khawaja Asif said that the completion of the motorway would bring transformative changes to Sialkot and its surrounding areas.
He further expressed gratitude to the military leadership for its role in facilitating and supporting the completion of the motorway project.
The minister reiterated that ongoing and upcoming development initiatives are aimed at improving transportation, boosting economic activity, and enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Sialkot.
