Pakistani Passport Climbs to 100th in Global Ranking, Grants Visa-Free or Visa-on-Arrival Access to 30 Countries

Islamabad: The Pakistani passport has improved by three places in the Henley Passport Index 2026, climbing to 100th position from 103rd last year, marking its best ranking since 2015.
According to the latest index, based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Pakistani passport holders can now travel to 30 countries without obtaining a visa in advance, either through visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival facilities.
Countries offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to Pakistani citizens include Nepal, Maldives, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Seychelles, Somalia, Madagascar, Barbados, Dominica, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago, among others.
The report also notes that more than 50 countries, including Türkiye, Malaysia, Thailand, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, provide e-visa facilities, allowing Pakistani travelers to apply for visas online before departure.
Globally, Singapore retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations. It is followed by the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and South Korea, whose citizens enjoy visa-free access to 188 countries. At the bottom of the ranking are Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
