Pakistan Ranked World’s Least Secure Country Against Online Fraud in Global Index

Islamabad: Pakistan has been ranked the least secure country in the world against online fraud, according to the latest Global Fraud Index released in collaboration between international identity verification company Sumsub and global data platform Statista.

The report places Pakistan 112th out of 112 countries, making it the lowest-ranked nation in terms of resilience against digital fraud and cyber threats.

According to the index, Pakistan has remained at the bottom of the global rankings for the second consecutive year, indicating persistent challenges in combating cybercrime and strengthening digital security.

The report said the rankings were based on four key indicators: the overall rate of fraud, government measures and policies to combat cybercrime, public access to digital services, and the country’s broader economic conditions.

Researchers found that Pakistan recorded one of the highest levels of digital fraud among the countries assessed. The report also highlighted significant weaknesses in cybercrime prevention, e-governance, and the enforcement of digital security regulations, leaving citizens more vulnerable to online scams and fraud.

While Pakistan ranked last, Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland, and Norway were identified as the world’s safest countries against online fraud due to their strong digital security frameworks and effective anti-fraud measures.

The report also listed Indonesia, Nigeria, and India among the countries facing comparatively high risks from online fraud, though they ranked above Pakistan in the overall index.
