Caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan to Take Oath Today

GILGIT: Newly appointed Caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Justice (R) Yar Muhammad Khan, will take oath of office today.

Governor Gilgit-Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, will administer the oath. The development comes after the GB government and assembly were dissolved on November 25 upon completion of their five-year constitutional term.

Following the dissolution, Justice (R) Yar Muhammad Khan was appointed as the caretaker chief minister to oversee the interim setup.

The caretaker government will be responsible for conducting the upcoming assembly elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, which will be held under the **Federal Election Act 2017**.
