Pakistan Ranks 100th as Singapore Retains World’s Most Powerful Passport in Henley Passport Index 2026
KARACHI: The Henley Passport Index 2026 has been released, with Singapore once again securing the title of the world’s most powerful passport, while Pakistan ranked 100th in the global standings.
According to the latest index, Singaporean passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 destinations, allowing the country to retain the top position in the global passport rankings.
Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates jointly occupy second place with access to 188 destinations, while Sweden ranks third with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 187 countries.
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, and Spain share fourth place, with passport holders able to travel to 186 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance.
Austria, Greece, Malta, Portugal, and Switzerland rank fifth with access to 185 destinations, while Hungary, Poland, and the United Kingdom are placed sixth with access to 184 countries.
Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Slovakia, and Slovenia jointly rank seventh with access to 183 destinations. Croatia and Estonia are eighth with 182 destinations, Liechtenstein and Lithuania rank ninth with 181 destinations, while Iceland and the United States share tenth place with visa-free access to 180 destinations.
On the lower end of the rankings, Afghanistan remains the world’s weakest passport, ranking 103rd with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to only 23 destinations. Syria ranks 102nd with access to 26 countries, while Iraq is 101st with access to 29 destinations.
Pakistan is ranked 100th, with Pakistani passport holders able to travel to 30 countries without obtaining a visa in advance or by receiving a visa on arrival.
The report also places Yemen at 99th with access to 31 destinations, Somalia at 98th with 33 destinations, Nepal at 97th with 35 destinations, Bangladesh and North Korea jointly at 96th with 36 destinations, Iran and the Palestinian Territories at 95th with 38 destinations, and Eritrea at 94th with access to 39 countries.
The Henley Passport Index ranks passports worldwide based on the number of destinations their holders can enter without a prior visa or by obtaining a visa on arrival. It is widely regarded as one of the leading global benchmarks for measuring passport strength and international travel freedom.
