Trump Claims Iran Wants a Deal with the U.S., Says Washington Responded with Heavy Strikes

Washington:U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has contacted the United States seeking to negotiate a deal, though he did not specify which Iranian official allegedly made the call or which U.S. official received it.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said he was unsure whether the Iranian official involved had the authority to negotiate or whether any agreement reached would ultimately be honored.
Responding to a question about potential threats to the U.S. presidential aircraft, Trump said he faces security threats at all times and claimed that he remains at the top of Iran’s target list.
Trump also stated that the United States had carried out a major strike against Iran shortly before his remarks. He claimed that for every Iranian attack, the United States responds with “20 strikes.”
The claims made by President Trump have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation has been provided by Iranian authorities regarding the alleged phone contact or the reported exchange of attacks.
