Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Opposes Creation of New Provinces
KARACHI:Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has once again opposed the creation of new provinces, saying Pakistan will remain intact with its existing four provinces.
Addressing a ceremony in Karachi, the chief minister said Defence Day, Air Force Day and the “Salam Pakistan” ceremony were being observed in a dignified manner to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Murad Ali Shah said Sindh was among the founding provinces that played a role in the creation of Pakistan. He stressed that Pakistan would always remain united with its four provinces.
The Sindh chief minister further claimed that Sindh was the only province in the country with a local government system of this nature, saying no similar local bodies system existed elsewhere in Pakistan.
A few days earlier, Murad Ali Shah had rejected a proposal put forward by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi regarding the creation of additional provinces, describing it as an outdated suggestion and saying that no more provinces could be created.
